Review: Saints for All Occasions by J. Courtney Sullivan

4 “The Secrets You Keep” Stars for the story and 4.5 Stars for the narration!

Saints for All Occasions is a powerful story about family, religion and the never ending repercussions and generally unintended consequences of secrets. Both the family interrelationships and the historical aspects (which detail two sisters’ migration from Ireland to Boston in the 1950s) as well as how that past, including one big secret, impacts their lives and the lives of their children over the next 50+ years.

I listened to this book for a book club, and it provided tons of fodder for interesting discussion.

The narration by Susan Denaker was also well done, including both her imparting of emotion and accents that gave this novel a sense of authenticity.
